While attempting to reproduce results on a previously explored talc occurrence, Green River Gold Corp. encountered anomalous amounts of nickel and chromium right at surface at its Quesnel Nickel Project in the Cariboo Mining District of British Columbia.

The Company shot a UAV-MAG survey in 2021 which identified a 3 km. long by 500 metre wide magnetic anomaly which they intend to explore for nickel. While doing shallow drilling on a known talc occurrence near to the anomaly, the Company encountered nickel and chromium mixed in with the talc. The XRF gun used found nickel and chromium right from surface in all holes. The results were quite consistent, with one of the highlights being 0.25% nickel and 0.13% chromium over a 5 meter interval, only 10 meters below surface. In the 1980’s the area was studied with the idea of building a talc mine, as the talc occurrences stretch over at least one kilometer and are close to all infrastructure.  The discovery of significant amounts of nickel and chromium buried in with the talc opens up a world of possibilities. The combined values could add up quickly. Deeper drilling will commence in early March.
